One day too much in the circuses! One Voice in action in Granville for animals

5 hours. It took 5 hours of body painting by the talented Ophélie Nezan, to turn the model Juliana Marques into a tiger, like the One Voice logo. Thus transformed, the beautiful Juliana carried our message "Let's free animals from circuses! To the big top of one of the biggest circuses with animals from Europe. In the presence of the media, and to the applause of the passers-by, she courageously held our sign. The circus, meanwhile, had positioned all thier trucks so that journalists cannot film the animals ... And took the opportunity for some insults against us.

Already 64 cities in France and 20 countries in the world prohibit wild animals in circuses. For 18 years, One Voice has struggled to make their fate known in marquees and trailers where they live locked up. Our investigations revealed the violence of their training. And a large majority of French now consider they are stressed (80%) and unhappy (69%). It is a historic turning point that is coming!

This symbolic action marks the launch of the new One Voice campaign "One day too many in the circuses", an inverted countdown that you can find on circques-animaux.fr.

For France to be the 21st country this century to refuse the exploitation of wild animals in circuses, mobilize with us! Their freedom is just a click away!

Ce sont des images insoutenables. A quand la libération de ces animaux ? Qu'ils vivent enfin une retraite plus réconfortante et que tous les gens boycottent ce genre de cirque esclavagiste.

Je viens de faire un don de 50 euros et en même temps je me dis ...it is little and yet it will help ....
Je suis arrivée à une vie tellement bien remplie professionnellement que je sais qu'un nouveau chapitre m'attend - par une action pour libérer un animal sauvage enfermé dans un cirque .... un seul - et si j'y arrive - je serais tellement remplie de joie de simplement regarder dans ces yeux touchant de l'herbe, de la terre "libre" sous ces pattes au lieu d'un sol en béton et des barres métalliques.

On peut inciter les maires à refuser ces cirques avec animaux (dont certains hors la loi) et encourager ceux, souvent très créatifs et magiques, qui font rêver grands et petits sans cruauté animale:

C'est fantastique et j'aimerais vraiment y croire, des cirques OK mais sans aucun animal serait un rêve.
J'ai envoyé l'année dernière, un courrier au maire de Bourgoin Jallieu, commune de presque 27 000 habitants (j'habite un petit village à proximité) lui demandant d'interdire la venue des cirques avec les animaux (j'avais fait signer les gens qui me soutenaient 2 pages) en expliquant les raisons de ma démarche, la maltraitance animale etc, mais j'attends toujours sa réponse. Et malheureusement je vois régulièrement des cirques qui s'installent à Bourgoin Jallieu. Ils n'en n'ont rien à faire.
Cet été j'ai circulé sur la côte Landaise jusqu'à la Bretagne et j'ai été surprise de voir le nombre important de cirques installés dans les petites communes prônant des numéros avec des animaux. J'en étais malade, comment mettre fin à cette horreur ? Les gens sont c... ou quoi ?
Sensibiliser les enfants à la maltraitance animale dans les cirques, en parler autour de nous, aux amis, dans les diverses manifestations scolaires, sportives ou autres. Je le fais maintenant depuis plusieurs années, et autour de moi, on dirait que ça bouge tout doucement, mais ce sera long. Il faut une mobilisation de tous, et pas seulement dans les grandes villes ! Comme le dit quelqu'un plus haut, l'union fait la force. Alors battons nous.
