Passerelles Pound: a German Shepherd killed after the death of her human

She was called Holga. This German Shepherd had a happy existence for a long time with her human. She watched over him for years, offering him tenderness and loyalty. And she had visibly been very loved in return.

And then everything changed: elderly, the man passed away. As often happens in this situation, the family did not want to take Holga in. The children contacted the Passerelles Pound to get rid of her...

Abandonment added to the pain of grief for the dog. Placed in quarantine on 23 November 2021, Holga found herself in a cold and bare cage.

When our investigators went there for the first time, they saw that she was injured, languishing behind bars. At that time, they did not know why she was there: was she boarding, at the shelter, or impounded? It was only during their second visit a few days later when they discovered her body in a freezer, her notes filed under deceased animals (with no mention of her serious injury) and her — brief — history, that they realised the tragedy that had happened behind closed doors.

The tragic story of Holga is not an isolated case. Thousands of animals perish in the same way in our country when their human dies or falls ill. Whatever their state of health, abandoned by everyone, they are slaughtered without being put up for adoption or if they are not adopted.

Envie de vomir, 08/2012 elle venait d'avoir 9 ans et avait encore quelques années à vivre, la voir dans ces conditions sans même un couchage après 9 ans passée près de son maitre. Puis l'euthanasie sans aucune possibilité d'adoption, traitée comme un vulgaire déchet, repose en paix belle Holga, tu as rejoint ton maitre la haut !!!

Je suis horrifiée et très bouleversée après avoir lu votre récit sur HOLGA, chienne berger allemand, pauvre et pauvre chienne. Cette fourrière doit être condamnée et doit être fermée pour mauvais traitements envers les animaux confiés, pour cruauté envers eux, pour maltraitances +++, et pour manque d'amour, de grand respect, considération et empathie envers tous CES ETRES VIVANTS. Ce n'est que scandaleux et inadmissible, ces personnels doivent eux aussi être condamnés plus que fermement et lourdement avec interdiction définitive de travailler auprès et avec des animaux, car honteux et honteux. La triste fin de vie d'HOLGA est à en pleurer, et dire qu'il y en a tellement d'autres dans son cas. Les personnes âgées vivant avec un ou des animaux devraient être obligées de mentionner noir sur blanc, qu'ils souhaitent une vie digne d'amour et de respect pour leurs chers compagnons après leurs décès, et non qu'ils se retrouvent dans "une fourrière"... Comment peut-on "se débarrasser" du chat ou du chien" compagnons de vie, d'un parent ou d'un proche sans aucun scrupule ni remord en l'abandonnant dans une fourrière ? D'ailleurs, ce terme devrait être remplacé par un autre, car ce sont les voitures qui se retrouvent en fourrière, et non les animaux !
Je vous remercie de tout coeur pour dénoncer de tels endroits ignobles pour les animaux, en exigeant leurs fermetures immédiates et les personnels licenciés, car ce n'est pas pensable ni normal que de trouver de tels individus dans des structures où sont amenés des pauvres animaux, chats et chiens, abandonnés, errants ou trouvés et jamais réclamés comme par hasard...

Dégueulasse, les enfants du propriétaire décédé devraient avoir honte !

Quelle monde pourri, une très belle chienne comme Holga pourquoi, pourquoi ??? Je suis sûre que si elle avait été mise sur FACEBOOK à l'adoption elle aurait été déjà adoptée !!!
