An emergency for Femke: call for a national mobilization!

An emergency for Femke: call for a national mobilization!

One more season ends for the dolphin Femke. One more season to float aimlessly in her small pool, far from the ocean, far from her son ... Today, she is in danger of dying. There is urgency for her, as with the elephant Maya, a public mobilization can change everything!

Femke, deprived of everything

The health of Femke continues to deteriorate. Of course, she has Cushing's disease, but that does not explain her behaviour. Facing a wall, extinguished, deaf to the outside world, she allows herself just to float ... Since her son Ekinox was torn away from her in 2016 her condition has deteriorated further. He was her ray of sunshine, her hope, a breath of fresh air in the prison world of a dolphinarium. But Ekinox is no longer with her and her life is meaningless. She has already been denied the right to be a dolphin, to surf the waves, to fish, to make friends, to learn cultures and dialect specific to her group. But even her role as a mother has been denied by us.

Femke cannot take it anymore

So now she's waiting, for death? The return of her baby? According to Naomi Rose, a world specialist in cetaceans, her condition is critical. She urgently needs to be isolated, removed from her prison to receive the care and attention she so badly needs. But the courts have not responded to our request for an official evaluation. For them, everything is in order! For One Voice, it is unthinkable that a drama, like the death of the little dolphin Aikko will happen again. But the inactivity of the authorities is not a forgone conclusion! We saw it with the elephant Maya, the mobilization of the public is sometimes the best way of applying pressure. Maya was released from the circus because no one could ignore her condition any longer. As with the same for Maya, we now have the same for Femke, the opinions of experts of international fame in the field of cetaceans. As the same for Maya, we have already collected more than 100,000 signatures to our petition for Femke to be transferred to a marine sanctuary. As for Maya, we will go to the end!

In order for Femke to be freed from the dolphinarium and for her son Ekinox to be returned to her, we need everyone to mobilize. Please continue to sign and broadcast our petition and join us on September 1stfor a big gathering in Paris, at the Place du Québec, at 2pm!
